Vice President of Value Creation

Private Equity – Healthcare Focus

Our client, a private equity firm with over $2 billion in assets under management, is hiring a Vice President of Value Creation to stand up and lead a newly created function focused on driving performance across their healthcare portfolio. This is a high-impact opportunity to work directly with a seasoned investment team and portfolio company executives to create tangible value and institutionalize operational excellence.

Roughly 80% of your time will be spent working inside portfolio companies —partnering with CEOs, CFOs, and leadership teams to identify and execute growth and efficiency initiatives. The remaining 20% will focus on fund-level work , building internal operating playbooks, structuring strategic partnerships, and scaling firm-wide capabilities. This role is ideal for someone who understands what moves the needle and knows how to operate across strategy, execution, and measurement.

What You Will Be Doing

• Partnering directly with portfolio company leadership to develop and implement growth strategies, cost initiatives, and performance improvement plans.
• Creating and executing 100-day value creation plans in collaboration with deal teams post-close.
• Designing and rolling out best practices across the portfolio—covering areas such as pricing optimization, procurement, salesforce effectiveness, and systems integration.
• Leading cross-functional workstreams that span operations, finance, tech, and talent.
• Working with third-party partners including consultants, interim operators, and vendors to accelerate execution.
• Supporting internal firm initiatives such as building a central vendor network, establishing shared services models, or improving ESG and data infrastructure.

What You Should Have Experience With

• 6–10+ years of experience, ideally starting in top-tier consulting (e.g., Bain, BCG, McKinsey) followed by operational/value creation roles in a private equity-backed setting .
• Proven ability to lead complex strategic and operational initiatives that deliver measurable impact on revenue and EBITDA.
• Strong understanding of financial drivers and experience linking operational levers to P&L outcomes.
• Familiarity with the healthcare space—multi-site services, tech-enabled providers, or HCIT is a strong plus.
• Effective communicator with high emotional intelligence—you know how to influence without authority and build trust fast.
• Comfortable traveling as needed to be on-site with management teams.

Location

This role can be based in Washington, D.C., San Francisco, or Miami , with flexibility for hybrid work.
