Job Description

Public Relations Consultant Location Philadelphia, PA (Francisville area) :

Public Relations (PR) Consultant Your responsibilities will include developing effective communication strategies, handling crisis and emergency communications, and cultivating external/internal relationships. You will also be responsible for managing the public image and reputation of the leading post-secondary skilled trade technical school in the Philadelphia area. PR Consultant will use a variety of communication and media channels to shape public perception and increase awareness of the client and the client's goals.

Duties and Responsibilities: • Develop and implement strategic communication plans and public relations campaigns • • Prepare and edit organizational publications, including employee newsletter, reports, etc. for internal and external audiences • • Respond to requests for information from the media or designate an appropriate spokesperson or information source • • Write press releases and other media communications to promote clients • • Plan or direct development or communication of informational programs to maintain favorable public perception of an organization's accomplishments or agenda • •

Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with representatives of the community and public interest groups. Conduct focus groups as needed. • •

Plan and direct development and communication of programs to maintain favorable public views of the organization's agenda and accomplishments • • Coach client representatives in effective communication with the public or with employees • • Evaluate public opinion through surveys, polls, and social media listening and improve or create new PR strategies Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications: • Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Communications or related field. • Proven experience as a Public Relations Consultant or similar PR role •

Experience managing media relations (online, broadcast and print) • Background in researching, writing and editing publications • Proficient in MS Office and social media • Familiarity with project management software • Strong communication ability (oral and written) • Excellent organizational skills • Ability to work well under pressure

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule:

  • 4 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
